The student at this level is expected to be able to meet the requirements of a wide variety of everyday, school, and work situations upon completing the course. They can discuss topics related to specific interests and concrete areas of specialization. There is growing evidence of their ability to support their opinions, provide detailed explanations, and formulate hypotheses. The student at this level often demonstrates a well-developed ability to compensate for an imperfect understanding of some grammatical forms through the confident use of communicative strategies, such as paraphrasing and circumlocution. They effectively use intonation and differentiated vocabulary to convey subtle nuances of meaning. Students at this level often demonstrate fluency and ease of expression, but when faced complex and demanding functions at a higher level, students may need more time to express more appropriately.
